Automatic
Clutch Pedal Control System (ACPCS)
The ease of
an automatic. The control of a manual. The car still has its
conventional gear lever and you change gear in the normal way,
but with one notable difference, there's no clutch pedal operation.
Instead, the clutch is automatically operated by a switch mounted
within the gear lever, when it is pressed to change gear the
clutch is automatically operated. The system even recognises
the motion of the car detecting whether you want to shift gear
in a faster manner. The system also has a crawl function. Just
like a normal automatic, the car slowly moves forward or backward
when in gear to aid parking manoeuvres. The Automatic Clutch
Pedal Control System can be switched on or off to give you the
best of both worlds - the ease of an automatic and the control
of a manual. The system is mainly comprised of two units. The
first, a sophisticated electronic control unit which controls
the second, a compact electric motor. The electric motor is mechanically
connected to the clutch pedal with a cable. The accelerator pedal,
brake pedal, hand brake and road speed are monitored for signals
which result in automatic activation of the system. The entire
system is " installed in the interior compartment of the car.

What
happens during an emergency stop?
During
braking Twin Clutch will ensure that the engine remains
coupled to assist the deceleration process, and automatically
disengages the clutch just before the car comes to a complete
stop. The engine will therefore not stall. Thus behaving
in exactly the same manor as you are accustomed to.
|
 |
Can Twin Clutch be switched off?
Yes it can, there is an on/off switch. This can be switched
on or off even while moving.
|
 |
Will Twin Clutch result in higher clutch plate wear?
No. Twin Clutch has a balanced method of clutch engagement,
clutch plate wear for an average driving style is certainly
no more than for normal use.
|
 |
Will any modification be made to my car?
Twin Clutch can be installed without any modifications to
your car's system. The only alterations are that a number
of attachment points are introduced for the installation
of components. A switch is installed in the gear lever knob
and a number of wires are routed to the brake switch, accelerator
pedal, hand brake and road speed sensor.
